OHP Adds to Sales and Marketing Team

The American Floral Endowment has announced the recipient of the Markham-Colgrave International Scholarship, and has made available three new scholarships for 2013.

Brooke Gasteyer, a senior horticulture major at the University of Wisconsin”“River Falls, was awarded the Markham-Colegrave International Scholarship through the American Floral Endowment (AFE) and the David Colegrave Foundation.

Gasteyer will study horticulture in Germany from late February through July, and complete an internship at Gärtnerei Umbach, a wholesale nursery in Heilbronn, Germany.

AFE has also announced three new scholarships available for 2013.

The American Florists’ Exchange Scholarship is offered to juniors and seniors majoring in agriculture with an emphasis on a future in floriculture. The scholarship is available to students attending a college or university in California, or California residents attending a college or university in the U.S.

The Julio and Sara Armellini Scholarship is offered to sophomore, junior or senior students interested in pursuing careers in the marketing or distribution of floral products.

The Richard T. Meister Scholarship is offered to graduate students studying floriculture, intending to pursue a career in the land-grant university system with an interest in research, extension or teaching.

AFE offers more than 20 scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000. Applications can be found on AFE’s website.
