Plant Community Pride Through American in Bloom ProgramSource: America in Bloom

Glance around your community. See blooming flowers, charming landscapes and other lush nature accents? If you are proud of where you live, or perhaps want to help give your community’s image a well-deserved makeover, the American in Bloom (AIB) program might be just the ticket. The program helps residents “plant pride through community involvement and beautification,” according to the AIB website.

The entry deadline to participate in the 2008 contest is creeping up: Feb. 28, 2008.

America in Bloom is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting nationwide beautification programs and both personal and community involvement through the use of flowers, plants, trees and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements. They also strive to provide educational programs and resources to further their goals. For more information, visit http://www.americainbloom.org.
