Plantapalooza to Take Place at UGA Next MonthSource: University of Georgia

The Trial Gardens at the University of Georgia will host its first-ever Plantapalooza on April 9. The event is sponsored in conjunction with the State Botanical Garden of Georgia and the UGA Horticulture Club.The Trials Gardens at the University of Georgia will host its first-ever Plantapalooza on April 9, 2011 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event is sponsored in conjunction with the State Botanical Garden of Georgia and the UGA Horticulture Club.

An extensive array of garden plants will be available at each location, along with expert horticulturists, volunteers and Master Gardeners to help with plant selections.

The University of Georgia Trial Gardens (www.uga.edu/ugatrial) grows and tests the newest annuals and perennials from plant breeders throughout the world. During Plantapalooza, a unique selection of plants that are difficult to find anywhere else as well as Athens Select Plants will be offered for sale. In addition to these plants, Dr. Allan Armitage’s books will be available for purchase. Dr. Armitage will be signing books and leading walk-abouts through the Gardens. Profits from all sales will help fund the continuation of research at the Trial Gardens.
