Proven Winners Certification Program Turns 15

Proven Winners is celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of its Certified Garden Center Training Program this spring.

Proven Winners is celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of its Certified Garden Center Training Program this spring.

New this year, Proven Winners is throwing a free pizza party for each IGC in North America that completes their certification by May 1, 2016.

This program was created to help educate and train independent retailers and establish them as their leading local authority on Proven Winners products. To date, more than 100,000 retail employees have been certified through Proven Winners.

“We know that the retailer’s job is difficult and with each customer presenting a different set of challenges, recommending the right plants can be difficult. Our research shows that choosing the right plant is the #1 challenge for today’s gardener, so the trained retailer is critical to their success. To give retailers great info to help their customers, we’ve surveyed thousands of garden centers and asked them for the commonly asked questions by consumers. We’ve used that information to structure this year’s training video,” said Dave Konsoer, host of the Certified Garden Center Program.

Detailed recommendations for Proven Winners annuals, perennials and flowering shrubs are covered in the training video as well as the three national combinations for 2016, merchandising ideas, gardening trends, and much more.

Online training began February 1. Training DVDs are also available.

Retailers who graduate from the Certified Garden Center Training Program appreciate all of the benefits and rewards that come along with certification, including being listed first among all Certified retailers on their popular online retailer listing.
