Register for Upcoming Greenhouse Profitability ProgramSource: Joyce Latimer, Virginia Tech

The Virginia Cooperative Extension is supporting a regional program on greenhouse profitability on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, Va. The program will feature Dr. Charlie Hall, professor and Ellison Chair of International Floriculture at Texas A&M University, and Brian Whipker, professor and extension floriculture specialist at North Carolina State University. After the morning and afternoon sessions, a grower panel moderated by the featured speakers will focus on maintaining profitability through the holidays and 2010.

A networking social for association members and sponsors will take place the night before the program. Developed by the Virginia Flower Growers Association, the program is co-sponsored by the Maryland Greenhouse Growers Association and the North Carolina Commercial Flower Growers Association. The Scotts Company (gold sponsor) provided financial support for the speakers, and meals are supported by JR Peters, Inc. (silver sponsor).
