Results Are In – Congress Jumps In RankingsSource: Landscape Ontario

Trade Show Week, a trade show trade publication, recently announced its rankings for trade shows in Canada in 2005. Congress, Canada’s international horticultural lawn and garden show, jumped two spots from 12th position to 10th place.

“It is exciting to receive impartial confirmation that we are on the right track for growth with both exhibitors and visitors at Congress,” said Paul J. Day, CDE, trade show manager for Landscape Ontario, the show producer.

“Congress was also honored as one of the 50 fastest-growing trade shows in North America in 2003. We work hard to keep the show fresh and lively,” continued Day. Rankings are based on total attendance and total square footage of display space.

The continued growth of Congress is reflected in strong sales in the lawn and garden sector. A recent study by the National Gardening Association in the United States showed that sales were up once again for 2005 – lawn care retail sales up by 9 percent, flower gardening retail sales up by 10 percent and container gardening up by 8 percent.
