Scholarships Available to Southeast Hort Students
The Sidney B. Meadows Scholarship Endowment Fund is accepting scholarship applications for 2016 awards. Senior or graduate level horticulture students (who are residents of the 16 southeastern states) are eligible to apply.
Scholarship recipients are determined through an application process administered by a selection committee, based on academics, determination, demonstrated interest in the horticulture industry, and financial need.
Eligibility requirements and the application is available from the fund’s website.
The deadline for application is May 27. The Scholarship Selection Committee will make final selections by July 6, and recipients will be notified soon thereafter. Awards will be made on August 31, in Athens, Georgia, at the SNA Research Conference Luncheon during the new SEGreen.
Created in 1989 by the Southern Nursery Association (SNA), the Sidney B. Meadows Scholarship Endowment Fund is a 501 (c) 3 charitable foundation providing academic scholarships to students in sixteen southeastern states — Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia — pursuing a career in horticulture.
