Seminar To Address Hawaiian FloricultureSource: Hawaii Agriculture Conference

Three flower and foliage experts will discuss the 10-year outlook for floriculture in Hawaii at a seminar in Honolulu, Hawaii, next month. The Hawaii Floriculture Industry seminar will meet Oct. 27, 2006, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

The keynote speaker will be Tom Lavagetto of Floral Consulting Group. He will discuss how to keep Hawaii’s floral products visible in the competitive mainland market.

Bob Luthultz, president of the Society of American Florists (SAF) and president of Pittsburgh Cut Flowers, will talk about the changing world of America’s wholesale floral distribution network. Joseph Cialone of the Florida Nursery & Landscape Association will talk about how the Florida nursery industry pulled its foliage and orchid growers and its landscapers together to create one of the most powerful nursery grower associations in the country.

The speakers will also take part in a roundtable on ways that growers of cut flowers, potted orchids and potted foliage can increase their sales.
