Students planning a career in floriculture can now apply for the 2014-15 Shinoda Memorial Scholarships.

Students planning a career in floriculture can now apply for the 2014-15 Shinoda Memorial Scholarships. To be considered, students must apply before March 30, 2014, and be enrolled in accredited colleges, universities or California community colleges. The awards, presented by the Joseph Shinoda Memorial Scholarship Foundation, recognize high-performing students of floriculture and related fields. In recent years, the awards have expanded to include the floral design segment through the Shinoda Design Center Scholarship and the Jimmy Shinoda Memorial Scholarship, which support California community colleges in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Diego counties. Since 1965, the foundation has presented awards valued at more than $760,000 to nearly 650 undergraduate students. For more information or to apply, visit www.shinodascholarship.org.
