Students Participate In PLANET’s Career DaysSource: PLANET

The Professional Landcare Network’s (PLANET) Student Career Days are held each year at a different college or university across the United States. The 31st annual event will take place at Michigan State University, March 29 through April 1, 2007. PLANET expects 900 college students from more than 50 schools to participate.

There will be 24 sessions ranging from personnel management and sales presentation to irrigation troubleshooting, wood construction, tree climbing and patio installation. The competitions are meant to provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate their skills and validate what they have learned in school.

Student Career Days also draw a large national gathering of landscape, lawn care and interiorscape employment recruiters. A career fair takes place during the event, which offers students the opportunity to interview with green industry companies for full-time positions and internships.
