Robert Gumpf has been promoted to vice president sales at Summit Plastic Co., Talmadge, Ohio.

Gumpf joined Summit as sales manager of the then new JanorPot line of round thermoformed pots in 2000. He was named national sales manager in 2006.

“Rob’s knowledge of this industry – not just the plastic side, but the growing side as well, has had a big impact on Summit since he came on board in 2000,” says Norman Belliveau, Summit’s president/CEO. “His management-style has helped establish the best team – we think – in the industry.”

Summit also announced it has added two new thermoformers and another eight-color printer. The installation of these three new pieces of manufacturing equipment, all of which facilitate expansion of all of the company’s product lines, is targeted for completion during the first quarter 2011.

Belliveau said the company also recently made some other organizational changes and added an internal coordinator and shipping communicator.
