Suntory Unrooted Cutting Program ExpandedSource: Jackson & Perkins

Jackson & Perkins recently announced that the world-class genetics making up the Suntory Collection will now be more widely available than ever.

With a total of 116 varieties, Suntory’s unrooted cutting (URC) program has expanded to include all the best-selling varieties within the following brands: Million Bells calibrachoas, Surfinia petunias, Tapien and Temari verbenas, Summer Wave torenias, Angel Earrings fuchsias, Marietta bidens, Summer Splash nierembergias and Surdiva scaevolas. This comprehensive URC program, available as flowering-only cuttings throughout North America, marks the first time complete lines of Suntory genera are available as unrooted cuttings.

So what’s the economic advantage for growers?

“In this economy, growers are always looking for more cost-effective methods of producing high-quality bedding plants,” said Lou Aguirre, Suntory licensing manager for Jackson & Perkins. “Unrooted cuttings provide a fabulous product at an enormous cost savings over rooted liners. They also provide growers with more flexibility to grow premium plants in various sizes and forms.”

The Suntory Collection URC program will be available exclusively through the network of Suntory licensed brokers in North America, and will be shipped from production facilities at Oro Farms in Guatemala and Florexpo in Cost Rica.
