Syngenta has opened the application period for the second year of its Grow More Vegetables Seed Grant Program, which provides assistance to schools and community organizations interested in establishing or enhancing garden programs.

Syngenta awards one winner in each of the following categories:

  • Elementary and middle schools
  • High schools and Future Farmer of America (FFA) chapters
  • Community groups and organizations

In its first year alone, the program received more than 200 applications. Syngenta says grant rewards aim to create opportunities to educate communities across the U.S. on the benefits of fresh vegetable production and consumption through hands-on experiences with agriculture.

Applications for 2014 grants are being accepted now through midnight Sept. 15, 2014.
