Tennessee Town Races to Beat DroughtSource: H2O Guard

In an effort to save water and install water control features in every home, Orme, Tenn. Mayor Tony Reames and the City Council agreed to team up with H2O Guard, an Austin, Texas company in a “Save the Water Race,” which was scheduled to take place this past weekend.

In a drastic measure to resolve the major drought crisis gripping the tiny community of 145 residents, Reames cut off the water supply to three hours per day.

This latest campaign is another attempt to conserve the scarce water supply by minimizing leaks. H2O Guard has developed a new toilet valve along with a flapper that stops leaks. Once the tank is full, the valve shuts off any additional water. A leak is quickly detected and stopped, says Robert Easter, founder and CEO of H2O Guard, Inc.

“Our goal is to conserve as much water as possible by attacking every water wasting problem we can find, especially the ones people forget about,” states Mayor Tony Reames in a company press release.
