Terra Nova to Highlight New Varieties at CAST 2017

Terra Nova Nurseries plans to display new varieties during this year’s California Spring Trials (CAST). The

display will be stationed at the Windmill Nursery trials location April 2-4, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and April 5, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. PST, and will feature exclusive, best-of-breeding varieties bred by Terra Nova Nurseries.

The display will showcase varieties included in Terra Nova Nurseries’ Pro Liner program, which enables growers to place orders for 100-cell liners. The program helps the company’s customers reduce total shipping costs and increase inventories at a more rapid pace. In addition to the Pro Liner varieties, Terra Nova Nurseries will be displaying new plant introductions, ranging a wide selection of genera.

The company is redesigning its display and will introduce the new varieties in “function focused groupings.” This will be illustrated by the use of colorful vignettes depicting consumer sales-oriented trends, such as reduced water usage, pollinator attractors and low maintenance. The goal is to help guide CAST visitors how to position products in order to meet consumer demands. Terra Nova Nurseries is also designing many combination planters as a display source of ways to combine plants.

Select varieties on display will include Heuchera Forever ‘Red’; Heuchera Northern Exposure ‘Silver’; Heucherella ‘Onyx’; Echinacea Kismet ‘Red’; Echinacea Kismet ‘Yellow’; Scrophularia Cardinale ‘Red’; Tanacetum Radiant ‘Deep Pink’; and Lewisia Constant ‘Fuchsia’; among others.
