UGA Trial Gardens Go SustainableSource: University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences

The University of Georgia Trial Gardens, where plants from all over the world are tested, has gone sustainable. Faculty and students in charge of the garden are reducing its environmental impact by minimizing water use, maximizing soil nutrients and reducing the use of plastics. The garden has also increased efficiency through its use of green products.

The decision to go green supports one of the garden’s larger goals: to lead as an example for sustainability in the horticulture industry and beyond, demonstrating environmentally friendly practices for business and homes as well. In addition to its trial purposes, the garden is currently a teaching facility, exposing students to various species so they can study growth habits, tolerances and uses.
