Van Belle Nursery Introduces RocketLinersSource: Van Belle Nursery

Van Belle Nursery recently announced the launch of RocketLiners, an improved version of the company’s “classic” 4-inch young plant.

Developed in-house, the new RocketLiner offers growers a larger liner with improved root structure for a shorter finishing cycle.

Led by Diego Martinez, head grower, the YoungPlants Unit conducted a multi-year process of research & development. The team tested different propagation pots against Van Belle’s classic pot to see whether a new design would help grow stronger, healthier roots. The research revealed that plant quality, fresh root weight, root training, and surface area could all be improved with a new design.

The RocketLiners will include the following improvements over the previous classic 4” liner:

• 18% more lateral surface area of the roots
• Better drainage and oxygen delivery to roots
• Improved root training
• 9% increase in soil volume
• Containers become retail-ready faster
