Web Site Offers Drought InformationSource: University of Minnesota

The University of Minnesota has created a new Web site and set up a toll-free phone number to help answer questions about this summer’s drought. The University’s Extension Service Web site now has a section containing information on heat safety and the impact of drought on horticultural and agricultural crops and livestock.

The site also contains links to the University of Minnesota’s Climatology Working Group’s drought information sources as well as a link to the most recent U.S. Drought Monitor map. You can access the Web site at www.extension.umn.edu.

The Extension’s Farm Information line will also be staffed from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, to answer drought-related questions. The toll-free number is (800) 232-9077.
