Jaderloon announces receipt of a patent on a natural ventilation greenhouse roof design. The inflatable, heatable, sealable and retractable roof design is patented under the name "roll-a-roof." This system operates on top of the greenhouse frame using ordinary polyethylene double-layer or single-layer covering.
The roofing system for greenhouses was designed to simplify natural roof ventilation. The roof both closes and inflates in a very short time by simply pushing a button. Jaderloon, Irmo, S.C.

Plant growth enhancer
Calcium-25 was developed as an organic calcium source that also acts as a non-toxic plant growth enhancer. The product not only supplies necessary calcium, but it is absorbed differently than other calcium products.
When applied as directed, Calcium-25 causes a rapid increase in growth. This increase also causes an efficient increase in nutrient absorption from the soil. Bio-Gard Agronomics Inc., Falls Church, Va.

Supply chain services
ASB Logistics has launched a new service designed to improve the management and distribution of live goods. ASB’s new supply chain service works through streamlining the distribution logistics and information sharing between plant growers and retailers.
One of the services offered is the creation of a centrally managed pool of shipping bins and carts for lease. Growers lease carts and bins from ASB. In turn, ASB tracks them through the distribution system, collecting them at retailer locations and redistributing them to growers.
This system utilizes hand-held scanner devices in conjunction with a barcode that carries an identification number associated with the contents of the cart or shipping bin. Both the grower and retailer have access to the inventory and distribution data via an easy-to-use, web-based interface that can be tailored to the specific needs of the users. ASB Logistics LLC, Geneva, Ill.
