‘Corsage White Improved’ and ‘Corsage Cerise’ are two of the newest additions to this series. These double-flowered verbenas feature broad, green foliage and a compact, half-hanging growth habit. They grow to 8-10 inches high. Other colors in the series include Purple, Wine, Red, Rose Peach and Pink Bicolor. Corsage varieties are suitable for pots, baskets and groundcovers.
When rooting, use a standard, well-drained, peat-based potting soil with medium fertilization. Keep air temperature at 75-82° F and media temperature at 68-75° F. High humidity levels are recommended (between 90 and 95 percent).
Pinch once after rooting is complete and a second time after planting is established. Plant between weeks 7 to 18. While growing, keep temperatures at 57° F night and 63° F day. Four-inch containers (one plant) will be ready in five to six weeks. Six-inch (two to three plants) will be ready in seven to eight weeks. Baskets (three to four plants) will be ready in 10 to 12 weeks.
For growth regulation, use 2,500- to 5,000-ppm B-Nine (daminozide) on young plants.
