Last week, temperatures dropped to nearly -20 degrees Fahrenheit in the Chicago area.
And that Arctic plunge came AFTER we got 18 inches of snow during the first week of the year!
I know it was even colder in other areas and some places got even more snow, but it seems like Mother Nature has resolved not to fool around in 2014. So far this year she means business!
If you haven't seen it yet, the Weather Channel's website has posted a photo slideshow that will give you an idea of what people across the country have been dealing with weather-wise since the new year started. You can check it out by clicking here .
So how are you and your greenhouses surviving Mother Nature's wrath during the first two weeks of 2014? Drop me a line at email@example.com and let me know how you are dealing with the weather so far this year.
Deadlines, Deadlines, Deadlines
Don't forget, NEXT Monday (01.20.14) is the deadline to nominate someone for the Class of 2014 of GPN's 40 Under 40. If you think you know an individual who belongs in this year's class, be sure to nominate him or her today. You can nominate someone at www.gpnmag.com/40-under-40-nomination .
Also, if you are a large grower (more than 250,000 sq. ft. of growing space), I want to remind you that the deadline to register for the 2014 Big Grower Executive Summit is almost here too. GPN's Big Grower Executive Summit provides exclusive insight into the changing market dynamics facing large growers today. Space is limited and the cutoff date to qualify for the special hotel room rate is rapidly approaching. You can learn more about the conference and register to attend at www.biggrower.com/executivesummit .
