While the actual Super Bowl game turned out to be not so super (especially if you are a Broncos fan), there still were some entertaining moments that took place during yesterday’s game — the commercials .
Companies were shelling out a reported $4 million for a 30-second spot during the game between the Denver Broncos and the now Super Bowl champs, the Seattle Seahawks.
This year, advertisers turned to Bob Dylan, puppies and horses, Muppets, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the 80s and lots of kids, just to name a few, to help promote their products to a huge TV audience. In case you were in the kitchen loading up on chicken wings and your favorite beverage and missed any of the commercials when the first aired, you can see all of them here .
Some of the ads were funny, some were poignant, some made you scratch your head and say, “What was that all about?”
Whether or not the ads will actually help those companies sell more products is still to be determined, but they definitely have people talking about them today.
So that got me wondering about how people in our industry are advertising their products and services? What kind of message are you sending out to potentially new customers? Are you sending the same message to existing customers? What kind of advertising works best for your company?
