Geranium

With medium to vigorous growth and good branching, the Survivor series performs very well alone or in combinations. Pink Batik is a new 2015 addition with eye-catching speckled flowers, and Scarlet is an improved variety this year.Use a disease-free, well-aerated root medium with a pH of 5.6-6.0. Rooted cuttings should be watered well before transplanting. Initial watering is improved if the finish container root medium is moistened before transplanting. For the quickest growth, maintain temperature at 65-76° F days and 62-65° F nights. Slightly cooler temperatures will provide tighter, harder growth but will add time to production.Feed at 175- to 250-ppm nitrogen after transplanting. Provide constant feed, alternating feedings between 20-10-20 and 15-5-15. Monitor pH and EC regularly and adjust accordingly. Survivor geraniums respond very well to harder calcium nitrate fertilizers.A pinch is not necessary as Survivor geraniums are bred for branching. Florel sprayed a couple weeks after transplant can promote additional branching and suppress early flowering when growing in larger containers.
