Jamesbrittenia

‘Britney Deep Coral’ and ‘Britney Deep Pink Improved’ boast large, bright-colored flowers contrasted against dark-green foliage. They are vigorous, well-branched plants with a mounded growth habit. Britney varieties perform well in full sunlight as well as partial shade.

Britney varieties root within 14 to 18 days at temperatures of 64-75° F. Use one plant per 4-inch pot, to be ready within six to eight weeks. Use one to two plants per 6-inch pot, to be ready in eight to 10 weeks. Use three to four plants per 10-inch basket, to be ready in 10 to 12 weeks.

Give plants a constant feed with a balanced fertilizer (250-ppm nitrogen) that contains average levels of micronutrients with a slightly increased level of iron. Use a well-drained potting mix with a pH of 5.5-6.5 and EC of 0.6-0.9.

Insects to watch for include whiteflies, aphids and thrips. Plants are sensitive to Botrytis, Pythium and Rhizoctonia.
