Rated at Michigan State University in 2011 for “excellent performance,” osteospermum ‘Serenity Rose Magic’ and ‘Serenity Pink Magic’ have exceptional habit and uniform timing.

These low-energy crops produce full, mounded plants with tight bench spacing. Their colors change as flowers fully open, adding to their consumer appeal.

Rooted cuttings should be transplanted at or slightly above the soil line of the final container. Media should be allowed to dry regularly between waterings and never saturated. Leach regularly to avoid the buildup of high soluble salt levels.

Use a balanced fertilizer at a rate of 225- to 300-ppm nitrogen. When grown excessively hungry, plants will become woody and will not branch properly.

Serenity osteospermum will perform best under moderate to high light levels of 5,000 to 9,000 foot-candles.

Plants should be pinched once, as soon as they are well rooted, to maximize branching and create a full plant covered in flowers.
