Project EverGreen Announces Scholarship Program
Two students in a green-industry-related field will be awarded $2,500 scholarships from the new Project EverGreen Because Green Matters Scholarship Program. The scholarships are open to undergraduate college students pursuing a career in the green industry and will be given in 2006.
“The green industry is an ever-expanding field with a wide variety of career possibilities,” says Den Gardner, executive director of Project EverGreen. “Our goal is not only to assist those students with the greatest need, but to inspire and support students that share our passion for this industry.”
To qualify, students must major or minor in a green-industry-related field such as horticulture, plant sciences, botany, agronomy, plant pathology, water management, etc. Eligibility, as determined by a committee made up of members of the Project EverGreen Board of Directors, extends to two- and four-year-program students attending institutions that offer turf, landscape and golf management curriculums. Applications are due June 1, 2006, and may be downloaded from www.projectevergreen.com.
