Project EverGreen Fundraiser Gets Artistic

September 29, 2006 - 08:29

Project EverGreen has created a new fundraising campaign that will provide donors with an opportunity to show off their artistic sides. The program is called the Shovels ArtWork Project. It is open to any individual or company that would like to support Project EverGreen and appreciates well-maintained green spaces.

Contributors who donate $1,000 will be given a shovel to paint to reflect their company and how it enhances green spaces at home, work and play. The finished shovel artwork will be put on display at the Green Industry Expo in Columbus, Ohio, in November. The organization is hoping to get 50 companies to participate in the program.

“There is a Chinese proverb that says ‘enough shovels of earth — a mountain. Enough pails of water — a river,’” said Den Gardner, Project EverGreen’s executive director. “That is the perfect analogy for our mission with the Shovels ArtWork campaign. With every new green industry business and individual that adds their contribution, Project EverGreen is able to build the mountain of consumer awareness about the benefits of our industry a little higher.”
