Register for Upcoming Water Workshops
The Water Education Alliance for Horticulture, which aims to help growers manage irrigation water, is sponsoring two educational workshops in January.
The first workshop, to be held Jan. 21 in New Jersey, will qualify participants for pesticide continuing education units; the second, to be held Jan. 28 and 29 in California, will feature presentations by the University of California and a unique grower tour from a water standpoint, according to Paul Fisher of the University of Florida.
The New Jersey event, a one-day Water Treatment and Recycling Workshop, will take place at Van Vugt Greenhouse in Pompton Plains, N.J. Participants will learn how to:
- Manage pathogens, algae, biofilm, and salt problems in irrigation water
- Irrigate with recaptured water, surface ponds and reclaimed water sources
- Use new research and technologies, with presentations from industry and university experts
The two-day California event, the Conference on Water Recycling and Treatment, will take place at the Center for Applied Horticultural Research in Vista, Calif. Regional and national university and industry experts will help attendees choose the best water treatment technologies for their technical
and financial situations.
