Runkle to Speak on Orchid Production at NE Greenhouse Conference
The New England Greenhouse Conference and Expo, taking place Nov. 5 to 7, 2008, in Worcester, Mass. will host Dr. Erik Runkle from Michigan State University to speak about one of today’s most popular potted plants: orchids. Runkle’s speech, “Advanced Forcing Techniques for Orchids” will share insight from his current research on orchids and other herbaceous perennials.
Research on orchid production has come a long way in the past 20 years. It has become so advanced, in fact, that orchids can now be scheduled to flower in mass quantities throughout the year. With the popularity of orchids – on TV, in garden magazines and garden centers – growers can benefit from learning the ins and outs of orchid production.
Runkle’s will present his thoughts Friday, Nov. 7 at the New England conference. To find out more about the presentation or the conference, visit www.negreenhouse.org.
