The Society of American Florists is accepting nominations and applications for the Floriculture Hall of Fame and other awards until March 2.

The Society of American Florists (SAF) is accepting nominations and applications for the Floriculture Hall of Fame and other awards until March 2.

SAF will honor the 2015 recipients at its 131st annual convention, SAF Amelia Island 2015, Sept. 9-12 at the Ritz-Carlton in Amelia Island, Florida.

Nominees and applications are being accepted for the following awards:

  • Floriculture Hall of Fame: the industry’s greatest honor recognizes individuals who exemplify our highest standards of service of responsibility.
  • Paul Ecke, Jr. Award: recognizes individuals for exemplary devotion to profession, industry and community.
  • Gold Medal Award: honors the originator or introducer of a widely distributed plant or flower of significant horticultural and commercial value.
  • John H. Walker Award: recognizes floral association executives for the role they play as leaders of the industry.
  • Alex Laurie Award for Research and Education: honors an individual’s contributions to floriculture research or education.
  • Century Award: recognizes companies who have served the floral industry for 100 years or longer.
  • American Academy of Floriculture (AAF): accepts members who have high standards of service to their industry and community.
  • Floral Management Marketer of the Year Award: recognizes unique, innovative and successful marketing efforts. The deadline to apply is June 4.
