Save The Date: Perennial Plant Symposium
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Perennial Plant Symposium and Trade Show will take place Aug. 5-11, 2007, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Columbus, Ohio. The week-long symposium includes lectures, workshops, tours and a trade show. This event is dedicated to education and networking for the perennial industry. Attendees include growers, retailers, wholesalers, designers, contractors, educators, garden writers and other professionals in the perennial industry.
To kick off the event, optional tours and workshops will take place on Sunday and Monday. On Sunday, attendees will get the chance to tour Columbus, visiting German Village and Victorian Village Garden as well as Eastern Ohio Garden Center. Monday’s tours include Perennials in Public Spaces and Landscape Design Garden Tour.
For attendees in the grower program, some workshops include Hosta Virus X, What’s Bugging Perennials and Container Perennial Nutrition, all taking place on Tuesday.
A professional tour of nurseries and garden centers will take place on Wednesday. Attendees will visit Chadwick Arboretum and Inniswood Botanic Garden. Optional tours will be offered the final two days.
More grower workshops will be offered on Thursday, including Technologies for Greenhouse Energy Conservation, Alternative Energy Sources for Greenhouses and Propagation of Native Perennials. Besides the grower programs, attendees can participate in the design and retail programs.
