Sidney B. Meadows Scholarship Endowment Now Accepting Applications
The Sidney B. Meadows Scholarship Endowment Fund is now accepting applications for its 2014 awards. Industry members are asked to advise all eligible students of the availability of this scholarship award. The information is currently available from the Funds website (www.sbmsef.org). The deadline for application is May 30, 2014. The Scholarship Selection Committee will make its selections by July 1, 2014 and recipients will be notified soon thereafter. Awards will be made on July 23, in Atlanta, during SNA 2014. Danny Summers, executive vice president of the fund said, “Last year, the Fund awarded a total of $18,000 to twelve students. This year, we expect to again award approximately twelve $1,500 scholarships. Since its inception, the fund has awarded $408,000 in scholarships and today the Funds balance is now over $800,000.” Created in 1989 by the Southern Nursery Association (SNA), the Sidney B. Meadows Scholarship Endowment Fund is a 501 (c) 3 charitable foundation providing academic scholarships to students in the 16 southeastern states. For more information contact the Sidney B.
