Syngenta Launches Photo CompetitionSource: Syngenta

Syngenta recently launched its 2010 Photo Prize competition to recognize and reward outstanding photography centered on the theme “Bringing plant potential to life,” which mirrors the company’s slogan. The competition is open to amateur and professional photographers alike, and entries will be accepted through June 20.

First, second and third prizes of $8,000, $5,000 and $3,000, respectively, will be sponsored by Canon.

“To mark Syngenta’s 10th anniversary, our company purpose has been chosen as the theme of this year’s competition,” said Jonathan Seabrook, head of corporate affairs. “The rich diversity of plants is central to both our business and global agriculture, and photography is the ideal medium through which to capture that diversity.”

The 2010 Photo Prize seeks outstanding images of plants, landscapes, communities and technologies in the context of global agriculture. An international jury will convene after the submission deadline to assess the entries, which will be judged on criteria available at www.syngentaphoto.com. A separate internal competition is also open to all Syngenta employees. A website dedicated to the photo prize will feature photos as they are submitted and showcase winners and entries from previous years.

To enter, go to the Syngenta Photo website. For more information on the company, visit Syngenta’s website or www.growmorefromless.com.
