Thinking Positively! By Tim Hodson

As the temperature hovered around -5°F this morning in the suburbs of Chicago, I couldn’t stop thinking about California Spring Trials. Even though the Trials are still seven weeks away, they will be here before you know it. And I know Mother Nature makes no guarantees about the weather during Spring Trials, but I am certain the temperature will be in the positive digits during that week.

In case you didn’t already know, California Spring Trials will take place April 11-16 throughout the Golden State.

Will you be heading out to California this year to see what the breeding companies plan on introducing? If you are, be sure to check out GPN’s 2015 California Spring Trials Companion. It contains all of the vital information (key contact names, addresses, phone numbers, directions and restaurant recommendations) you need to guide you to all of the 2015 Spring Trials locations. And if you haven’t made your appointments yet, AmericanHort has created an online reservation system to help you out.

Also, are you receiving GPN’s Culture Connection bi-weekly e-newsletter? If you aren’t, then you should subscribe today because Jasmina Dolce has been providing a glimpse into the future by previewing many of the new varieties that will debut in April. In the coming weeks Jasmina will continue to share some of the inside info on the new intros that she has been able to coax out of the Spring Trials exhibitors. You don’t wan’t to miss any of it.

And then once we get to Spring Trials, we will be providing you with regular updates on the new introductions in the Culture Connection as well as on www.CaliforniaSpringTrials.com and on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Will we be seeing you at California Spring Trials this year? Will you be escaping from the negative temperatures and mountains of snow we’ve been hit with this winter to see what is on tap for the horticulture industry?

Drop me a line at thodson@greatamericanpublish.com and let me know if you are headed out west in April.
