Toro Launches Educational Website on Drip Irrigation
In an effort to further educate on the benefits of drip irrigation, the Toro Co., a worldwide provider of turf and landscape maintenance equipment, recently launched a new website aimed at members of the agricultural, landscape and greenhouse business communities.
Visitors can access testimonials, illustrations, software, videos and links that seek to answer questions about drip irrigation technologies – ranging from the most basic to the highly advanced.
The web resource is a result of the strong desire to reach beyond traditional business circles in the drip irrigation industry. “This resource is for education only and intends to help address the growing demand for drip irrigation information,” said Claude Corcos, marketing manager for Toro Micro Irrigation. “As freshwater sources for agriculture and landscape become more scarce – and as drip irrigation is increasingly viewed as not only a method to conserve resources but also to improve value – we decided to share with others the wealth of information and tools we have developed.”
Website topics include drip irrigation basics, design and installation, operation and maintenance, research and related articles, monthly questions, and tips and trends. In addition, testimonials and case studies of real-world drip applications are presented in grower success stories and crop solutions. Informational brochures, a “drip/micro payback wizard” calculator, videos and a philosophy of networking and interaction are just some of the features of the new website.
To promote the launch, the site is hosting a drawing for the chance to win a new Junior MAX controller. The next winner will be chosen on May 1. To register, visit www.dripirrigation.org.
