Will This Lion Ever Turn Into a Lamb? By Tim Hodson

Well, it looks like March 2014 came in like a lion. For most of the country, Mother Nature had a hard time taming the beast over the past few days.

Some parts of California got more rain this weekend than they received all of last year creating new headaches for the rain-parched state. The Rocky Mountains saw another major snowstorm and in Texas there were way-below-normal temperatures and freezing rain to welcome the month of March. And I know that my snowblower got yet another workout as the Chicagoland area was hit with six more inches of snow on Saturday — to go with the 70 inches we have already received this winter!

As the lion makes its way east, the weather experts are predicting “threats of significant snow and ice from parts of the Midwest and Mid-South to the Middle Atlantic” with up to 10 inches of snow possible in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C., area. That doesn’t sound very lamb-like does it?

This winter has not been a laughing matter for anyone, but it helps to have a sense of humor about it. Check out this clip from an old episode of Saturday Night Live and John Belushi’s take on March lambs and lions.
