America in Bloom's awards will be announced at its annual symposium in Holland, Michigan on Sept. 24-26.

America in Bloom’s awards will be announced at its annual symposium in Holland, Michigan on Sept. 24-26. According to awards chairperson Jack Clasen, 42 communities are participating this year, a 27 percent increase over last year. “The great news is that we have a 50% increase in participants over the last two years,” says Clasen.

New this year to the program is the “Circle of Champions” category, where 11 past winners will compete against one another in the small and mid-sized population categories.

Each participant receives a two-day visit from a team of two judges. They will tour the community; meet with volunteers, elected officials and members of the business community; and develop a written evaluation, which will be sent to participants on Sept. 28.
