Make strides for the floriculture industry this summer by participating in or sponsoring the 6th Annual Dramm/OFA 5K Relay. The event will take place near the OFA Short Course in Columbus, Ohio, on July 9, 2005, with check-in starting at 6:00 a.m. and shoes hitting the pavement at 7:00 a.m. This year’s theme is “Stride for FIRST,” and all funds raised benefit Floriculture Industry Research and Scholarship Trust, a nonprofit organization that supports the floriculture industry.

Individual runners or relay teams of four runners may race the 5K for first, second and third place, while individual walkers complete one-quarter of the course in a non-competitive lap. Winners of the race will be recognized for their feat at 6:30 p.m. on July 10, after the OFA Short Course Reception, and all participants may attend.

Registration fees through May 6 are $120 for a four-person team and $30 for an individual. Registration fees from May 7 through June 27 are $140 for a four-person team and $35 for an individual. Companies or individuals also may sponsor the event at various levels. A sponsorship commitment is needed by May 6 to guarantee placement on promotional items.

To participate or for more information, see the insert in the 2005 OFA Short Course Program or log onto www.dramm.com or www.firstinfloriculture.org. For questions, contact Megan O’Brien at Dramm Corporation by phone at (920) 684-0227 or E-mail at mobrien@dramm.com.
