Fine Offers New OptionsSource: Fine Americas, Inc.

Fine Americas, Inc., a specialist producer of plant growth regulars, now offers U.S. growers an alternative for controlling plant growth.

Abide, a new growth regulator, produces more compact and marketable plants, according to Fine. Desirable attributes include darker foliage and higher chlorophyll content with greater leaf thickness.

It can be used on commercially grown containerized ornamental plants in nurseries, greenhouses and shadehouses. Abide is available in three sizes: quarts, 2.5-gallons and 30-gallon drums.

Abide, which can be applied either as a foliar spray or soil drench, is effective on a wide variety of container-grown ornamentals, foliage plants and bedding plants, including bedding plant plugs, bulbs, Easter lilies, poinsettias, chrysanthemums, and foliage plants.

In related news, Fine recently received EPA approval allowing the use of Configure on a broader range of ornamental crops. The newly expanded label will give growers the ability to use Configure on containerized annual and perennial flowering and foliage crops, as well as tropical plants.

Configure was first registered in 2007 for use on Echinacea, Hosta and Christmas cactus.
