H.M. Buckley Buys Liner Division and Becomes Suntory Rooting StationSource: H.M. Buckley and Sons, Inc.

H.M. Buckley and Sons, Inc., Springfield, Ill., has recently acquired Fahr Greenhouse’s liner production division effective immediately.

Fahr Greenhouse’s Pat Bellrose, who decided to sell the liner division of his business for personal reasons, stated that he chose H.M. Buckley due to its high level of customer service, quality, disease prevention and commitment. “I know that Buckley leads its company with competence and integrity,” Bellrose explains.

Fahr Greenhouse will continue operating its finished plant business and its retail operation. Both companies are working on making the transition as smooth as possible for Fahr’s customers. H.M. Buckley will continue special programs developed by Fahr, such as its popular sample tray and combination trays.

In addition to the acquisition of Fahr Greenhouse’s liner division, H.M. Buckley also announces it has been selected as a licensed Suntory rooting station (marketed in the United States by Jackson & Perkins). The company will be offering the entire line of Suntory varieties, starting in the 2004/2005 growing season.

H.M. Buckley and Sons, Inc. started in the nursery business in the early 1880s and has been producing rooted liners for more than 100 years. Today, its growing area encompasses more than 1.2 million sq.ft. between its two locations in Illinois and Florida. H.M. Buckley specializes in flowering plants, rooted liners, and unrooted cuttings and is a licensed Athens Select, Suntory and Flower Fields propagator.
