Home Run Rose Now on the MarketSource: Proven Winners

Garden centers across North America will now be able to distribute and market the Home Run rose as a result of an agreement between Proven Winners ColorChoice and Weeks Roses.

Home Run rose is a recently introduced hybrid, developed from the black spot−free Knock Out rose, with the added benefit of resistance to powdery mildew. Tolerant of heat, humidity and drought, the Home Run rose blooms from spring until frost and continuously produces fiery-red blossoms.

“With six years of research and development to breed this rose, and now four years of market testing behind us, we felt the time was right to expand distribution of Home Run rose through this partnership,” said Tom Carruth, director of research and marketing for Weeks Roses, and breeder of Home Run.

Proven Winners ColorChoice expects the Home Run rose to be available to consumers in spring 2011. A new pink variety is anticipated for 2012.
