UPI Acquires Ag Value

United Phosphorus, Inc. (UPI) has purchased Ag Value, Inc., a supplier and registrant of crop-protection products located in Visalia, Calif. The sale includes all stock and related entities, including the company’s assets, products, registrations, and property and rights associated with Ag Value and its subsidiaries and affiliates. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

In making the announcement, UPI said it anticipates a final merging and absorption of the Ag Value product line into the UPI business model no later than December of this year. More specific information regarding the availability and sale of Ag Value products will be forthcoming.

Bayer Headquarters Moves

Bayer Environmental Science has announced that its business group will move its North American operations from Montvale, N.J., and Birmingham, Ala., to Research Triangle Park, N.C., Americas headquarters for Bayer CropScience.

The move is intended to increase efficiencies within the company by bringing together all three of its business groups, BioScience, Crop Protection and now Environmental Science, in one location. The move, projected for mid-2005, will allow closer coordination among these three business groups and the company’s support functions.
