Actinovate SP Receives California Registration

Actinovate SP fungicide, from Natural Industries, Inc., has received approval for sale in California. Actinovate SP was developed to be a 100-percent soluble powder labeled for use against a broad spectrum of soil borne diseases (when used as a drench) and foliar diseases (when used as a spray).

Actinovate SP is labeled for greenhouse, nursery, interiorscape and turf applications. These applications include vegetables, herbs, fiber crops and tree seedlings to be transplanted to the field.

Dillen Adds Containers

Dillen Products recently announced the addition of thermoformed, co-extruded polypropylene growing containers to its existing broad product line. Dillen will make the new product offering available to growers through its North American distribution network in the second quarter of 2006.

Dillen’s new line of co-extruded round containers will include a wide variety of sizes. Stock colors will be green, clay, gray and white with black interiors. Custom colors will be available with minimum quantity orders. Six-color offset printing and labeling options are available.

PVG Offers New Liner

Pleasant View Gardens’ (PVG) Bump-Up Liner Program can supply growers with Proven Winners varieties with a bulked-up, power-packed root system, according to PVG.

Bump-Ups offer growers a “short cut” to a finished crop during the most demanding time of year. Utilized in Pleasant Views’ own finished crop production, the Bump-Up program offers growers a performance-charged liner, pre-packed with a broad spectrum drench, pinch and PGR application.

Bump-Ups come in a 32-liner tray size, with two trays per box. One tag is supplied per liner, and a tag exchange is available with this program. Shipping for Bump-Ups occurs during Weeks 12-22 (March 20-May 29 for the 2006 season).

Web Site For Painting Poinsettias

Fred C. Gloeckner & Co. is using its Web site (www.fredgloeckner.com) to ensure garden retailers are making the most of the recent painted poinsettia trend.

The Web site provides a downloadable Fantasy Colors press release that retailers can customize with their own store logo and contact information. There is also a Frequently Asked Questions List, which answers retailers’ questions about Fantasy Colors. McGregor Introduces New Program

McGregor Plant Sales recently released the new Low Riders Program to help growers save up to 20 percent on their outbound freight costs to retail centers.

Low Riders are low profile plants that help growers add one or more shelves to their outbound shipping racks. Low Riders typically finish a 4-inch pot in 8 inches or less; however, some varieties are selected to this program if they can to be substituted within a genus to create a lower profile finished product to be used in the same SKU code.
