Country Living Gardener Partners With Proven Winners ColorChoice

Country Living Gardener, a gardening lifestyle magazine, has expanded its Editor’s Choice Collection to incorporate Proven Winners ColorChoice Flowering Shrubs from Spring Meadow Nursery, Grand Haven, Mich. Country Living Gardener has selected six varieties of flowering shrubs for its Editor’s Choice endorsement for 2007 including: sambucus ‘Black Lace’, weigela ‘Wine & Roses’, hibiscus ‘White Chiffon’, hydrangea ‘Limelight’, itea ‘Little Henry’ and physocarpus ‘Summer Wine’. Fine Releases New Piccolo Guide

Target Adopts A Soldier

Target Specialty Products recently adopted a U.S. Army soldier and his platoon. The California-based distributor connected with the soldier through a program called My Soldier, based out of Manhattanville College in New York. The program matches corporations and private citizens to men and women serving in the military. My Soldier encourages support of U.S. troops through letters, cards, E-mail and care packages. Target was assigned a 32-year-old Army soldier representing a platoon of 40 soldiers currently serving in Afghanistan near the Pakistani border.

Target associates in Arizona, California and Oregon raised $1,600 during the month of June for the care package. Anonymous in-kind donations brought the care package value up more than $1,800. The platoon received military calling cards, DVDs, sunscreen and dry goods. In addition, the package included cards of support from company employees.

Gowan, American Pacific Partner

Gowan Company, LLC, recently announced it has entered into a licensing agreement with American Pacific Corporation to develop and bring to market azide-based pest management products.

These azide-based products could offer an alternative to traditional fumigant products such as methyl bromide. Under the terms of the relevant agreements, Gowan will be the exclusive worldwide marketing and sales provider of all products developed under this agreement. Gowan will play a key role in obtaining regulatory approval of the azide-based pest management products.
