Speedling Inc. Announces Personnel Changes
Speedling Inc. announced the following personnel changes, effective with the start of fiscal year 2008:
- Mike Samilian will shift focus from nursery operations to his new role as vice president of special projects. Mike will be concentrating on the areas of scrubbing costs from selected facilities, modernization projects, EPS management and divesture, and national fleet standardization.
- Sandra Fischbein, a member of the Tier 1 Speedling Management Inc., was promoted to vice president and national sales and marketing manager of vegetables. For the past three years, Fischbein concentrated her efforts on national vegetable sales. She will continue to focus her efforts on national vegetable sales, particularly in the Texas, California and Florida markets.
- Meng Yee Tee has been promoted to the West Coast divisions manager position. An employee since 1996, Tee’s latest position was the nursery manager of Watsonville and San Juan Bautista, Calif. Facilities. In his new role, Tee will focus efforts on the sustained success of all operations west of the Mississippi.
CosMic Plants Inc. Partners with Sion Orchids
Sion, a producer and breeder of Phalaenopsis Orchids in De Lier, Netherlands, has joined efforts with CosMic Plants Inc. in Beamsville, ON, Canada, for the production and supply of rooted phalaenopsis young plants to the North American market.
The first young plants, 6 months old, will be available to the professional phalaenopsis grower as of January 2008 and in all subsequent year-round programs.
