Bird Rock Tropicals Wins Glass Tulip Award

Tillandsia ‘Samantha’ created by Bird Rock Tropicals recently was awarded the Glass Tulip award by FloraHolland.
The FloraHolland Glazen Tulip Award is presented each year to the most successful market introductions in the categories of cut flowers, houseplants, garden plants and sales concepts.
American tillandsia breeder Pamela Koide Hyatt of Bird Rock Tropicals created Tillandsia ‘Samantha,’ which was entered by suppliers Bromelia Specialist BV, Stofbergen Plant Company BV and Ronald Bunnik.
According to FloraHolland, the judges found that the tillandsia possesses innovative value, but remains neutral to give it a broad appeal across many styles and tastes.
