Configure Receives Canadian RegistrationSource: Fine Americas

Fine Americas has announced the Canadian registration of Configure, the company's benzyladenine (6-BA) plant growth regulator for ornamental growers.

Fine Americas, Walnut Creek, Calif., has announced the Canadian registration of Configure, the company’s benzyladenine (6-BA) plant growth regulator for ornamental growers.

The product is registered for use on a wide variety of ornamental crops.

Greg Johnson, president of Fine Americas, said  the growth regulator works very well for increasing lateral and basal branching and improving plant appearance and marketability.  In addition, it promotes flowering and helps growers produce more compact plants that are easier to transport, manage and display.

Kevin Forney, technical services manager for Fine Americas, noted Configure is popular with growers producing ornamentals such as Christmas cactus (Schlumbergera spp.), plantain lily (Hosta spp.) and purple coneflower (Echinacea spp.).  “It comes in a concentrated, ready-to-mix formulation and should be applied as a foliar spray according to label directions,” he said.

Forney recommends that growers trial Configure on a limited basis before widespread use, as individual plant response can vary based on variety, growing medium, light, ambient temperature and other factors.

It is available in 2-liter containers and manufactured under ISO-9001:2000 standards.

N.M. Bartlett of Beamsville, ON is the exclusive Canadian distributor of Configure and other plant growth regulators from Fine Americas.
