According to Silver Vase CEO Andrew Bartha, they use a closely guarded patented technique to create the blue flower. “Blue Mystique is the result of a carefully protected process that infuses white orchids with a special medium.”

The company says this method has been developed after years of research and testing, using naturally derived elements while remaining environmentally conscious. It is not hybridized.

This process colors flowers from the inside in the spectrum of blue – with the buds on the current stem. They will open as fading light blue flowers. The reason for this is the buds were closed at the time of treatment.

Silver Vase says as the healthy orchid grows, a new stem will probably bring white flowers, “though it is too early to know for sure.”
