SNA Honors Charlie Hall, Names 2012 OfficersSource: Southern Nursery Association

Last week, the Southern Nursery Association recognized Texas A&M's Dr. Charlie Hall with its 2012 Porter Henegar Memorial Award and announced its new board of directors was elected at the 114th Annual SNA Business Meeting that took place during the Gulf States Horticultural Exposition in Mobile, AL.

Last week, the Southern Nursery Association recognized Texas A&M’s Dr. Charlie Hall with its 2012 Porter Henegar Memorial Award and announced its new board of directors was elected at the 114th Annual SNA Business Meeting that took place during the Gulf States Horticultural Exposition in Mobile, AL.

The Porter Henegar Memorial Award recognizes those individuals who have made outstanding contributions to ornamental horticultural research. Dr. HAll was recognized for his “concern and work toward improving the nursery industry.”

SNA’s 2012 officers are:

President – William J. “Bill” Boyd, Flower City Nurseries, Smartt, TN
Vice President/Treasurer/Director Chapter 4 (Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas) – Jeffrey Howell, Rocky Creek Nursery, Lucedale, MS
Executive Vice President – Karen Summers, Summers & Associates, Acworth, GA
The 2012 SNA board of directors includes:

Director Chapter 1 (Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia) – Eelco Tinga, Jr., Tinga Nursery, Inc., Castle Hayne, NC
Director Chapter 2 (Florida, Georgia, South Carolina) – Richard May, May Nursery, Havana, FL
Director Chapter 3 (Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee) – Michael Hobbs, Warren County Nursery, McMinnville, TN

Randy Bracy, Bracy’s Nursery is the immediate past president and Danny Summer, Summers Associates, serves as a borad advisor.
