Terra Nova Nurseries Makes Perennial DonationSource: Eberly & Collard PR

Terra Nova Nurseries recently donated 2,500 perennials — a retail value of more than $10,000 — to the International Rose Test Garden, a public garden in Portland, Ore., which features thousands of roses from around the world. The 9,000-square-foot bed is located near the entrance of the garden. The company wanted to provide the public garden with perennials not only to beautify the empty space, but also to conduct a true test of how the plants will perform under natural conditions.

Dan Heims, president and co-founder of Terra Nova Nurseries, was recently featured for the company’s donation on GardenTime TV. The episode focused on the plants selected by Terra Nova Nurseries for the perennial bed as well as the overall concept behind the donation. Click here to see the video.

“We wanted to showcase perennials, shrubs and roses mixed. The plants Terra Nova Nurseries donated has created a fantastic display for homeowners to observe what they can do in their own landscapes and gardens,” said Harry Landers, a botanic specialist for the International Rose Test Garden. “The gardens are beginning to fill in, and people are now stopping to take pictures and really examine the plants.
